Merge and split PDFs with fewer mistakes
Merging copies pages from the selected PDFs into one new file. Splitting exports the page numbers you request. The operation does not rewrite the visible page contents, but advanced PDF features may behave differently in the new document.
Put files in the right order first
The merged PDF follows the file-selection order shown by the tool. Use clear file names and check the first and last page of every section after downloading. If order matters for a legal, school, or business submission, open the final PDF before sending it.
Select pages carefully
Page numbers refer to the PDF viewer's page count, which may differ from numbers printed on the document. A cover page can make printed page 1 appear as PDF page 2. Verify the thumbnail or displayed count before entering a range.
Know the limitations
Password protection, digital signatures, interactive forms, attachments, bookmarks, and comments may need specialist PDF software. Do not assume a newly merged or split file preserves a digital signature. Keep the source PDFs until the result has been reviewed.
