About this site
Simple tools with clear limits
The Best File Converters is a collection of small browser-based tools for common conversion jobs. The site was created for people who need to change an everyday file without installing a large program or waiting for a server upload.
Why processing happens in the browser
Many images, text files, PDFs, and structured data files can be read by modern web browsers. When a compatible conversion runs locally, the selected file does not have to be sent to our server. That is useful for privacy and can make short jobs feel faster.
Local processing has limits. A browser has less memory than specialist desktop software, and it cannot perfectly reconstruct every document layout. The site explains those limits on the relevant converter and guide pages so visitors can decide whether a tool fits their file.
What we test
Tools are checked with ordinary sample files that cover the advertised input and output types. We review whether a download opens, whether important content survives, and whether known limitations are described. We also check navigation, mobile layouts, privacy claims, and the public search-engine files.
What we do not promise
No general converter can guarantee a perfect result for every file. Fonts may change, spreadsheets can lose formulas when exported to CSV, nested JSON may not fit a table, transparent images lose transparency in JPEG, and scanned PDFs need optical character recognition. We recommend keeping the original and opening every converted file before using it.
How the site is supported
The tools are free to use. The site may display advertising to help cover hosting and maintenance. Advertising does not change conversion results, and an empty ad area does not prevent the tools from working.
